As you may have seen the Covid-19 vaccination programme is now concentrating on inviting younger age groups to nationally run vaccination sites through the NHS National Booking Service. As the numbers requiring first vaccination reduces, we have reviewed the capacity needed for the remainder of the vaccination programme. In addition the vaccination site that we have been using at the Forum, Northallerton is now keen to return to hosting events as we progress along the Government's roadmap to a more normal life. 

The Hambleton Primary Care Networks have therefore taken the decision to move out of the Forum from 21st June 2021 to allow the site to get back to 'business as usual' and also to allow our practices to place an increased emphasis on GP services after a period of intense vaccination delivery. 

All patients who received their first vaccination at the site and are due a second dose of their vaccination prior to this date in June will attend their appointment at the Forum and those due a second vaccination after that date will, instead, be invited to a GP practice site. Your practice will be in touch if the venue for your second vaccination has changed so there is no need to contact the surgery. 

For patients still requiring their 1st vaccination, these will continue to take place in the Northallerton area and will be delivered through the National Booking Service at a site operated by a local pharmacy. It is anticipated that this site will be operational from 2nd June.

From 17 May international travel will be permitted to a limited number of countries and in some cases proof of Covid-19 vaccination will be required. The mechanism for proving your vaccine status is through the NHS app. For those who cannot access the NHS app you can request written proof that you have received your Covid-19 vaccination by contacting the NHS on 119. Better Access to GP Services - Are you aware that you can now book appointments on a Saturday . These are pre bookable only and not for emergency walk in's. Please ask at reception

As an alternative to ringing 111, you can now visit to determine which service or treatment is most suitable for you. Due to the latest advice regarding Coronavirus we won't bring any patient into the surgery for a face to face appointment until they had a telephone consultation. All appointments will be triaged by a GP. If you have any symptoms you should self isolate


Currently we are not making face to face appointments with our doctors, all calls are been triaged. The doctors recommend that our receptionist's who are Care Navigators ask for a brief description of the problem to help direct you to the most appropriate person to deal with it.

To book an appointment please ring us on 01642 723421 and select option 2. If your call is of an urgent nature please select option 1.

For morning appointments please call at 08:30.

For afternoon appointments please call at 11:00.

We have an appointment system at the Practice called ‘Advanced Access’. This means that we will aim to offer you an appointment for the same day that you contact us.

GP appointments are available from 09:00 – 11:00 and 15:00 – 17:30.

We do offer a GP extended hours service which operates on a Monday evening 18:30 – 19:30. These appointments are pre-bookable up to 2 weeks in advance.

Patients can also book an appointment online via the link at the top of this page. Please contact reception if you wish to use SystmOnline as you need to collect a username and password. This service is not available at present due to Covid-19

Telephone Consultations

If you feel a telephone consultation would save you a visit to the surgery then please ring before 10:00 requesting a telephone call, leaving your name and telephone number. The doctor will return your call after morning surgery.

Telephone consultations can be used to discuss results of tests and investigations and any other advice where an examination is not required.

We understand that in some certain circumstances you may need to book ahead. Please notify the receptionist who will try to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

All appointments are pre-bookable; speak to a receptionist.


If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Better Access to GP Services

Patients registered at a GP Practice in Hambleton will be able to pre-book a routine appointment between 6.30 pm and 8 pm weekdays between 8.30 and 12 noon on a Saturday at the following locations.

Northallerton - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Stokesley - Saturday

Great Ayton - Saturday (Starting 30th Sept then every 3rd Saturday thereafter)
